Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda mower fuel problem, honda mower, oil fuel

Hi, i am running clean gas like your statement asked. But the honda harmony 215 sx self propelled mower will start but runs poorly. when I turn the choke on it dies completely. The mower runs at a higher rpm with the air filter cover off like it is starving for air. I think the carb. might have a leak or needs replaced. thank you sir for any help...

If the air filter isn't plugged (and it sounds like it might be), the carb will need to be cleaned thoroughly.  Honda has very precisely jetted carburetion and the orifices are fine.  They are even more susceptible to becoming plugged with oil fuel that has turned to varnish.  Hope this helps.
