Snowmobile Repair: 1986 exciter snowmobile WONT START!!, pesky critters, little mouse

We have been working on this sled for a few days and it will not start. It hadnt been started for quite a few years now. We noticecd a few wires had been chewed by pesky critters. So we replaced them and tried the spark plugs for spark. It started once for about 15 seconds. Then it died. Tried it again with a little starting fluid. it lasted about 5 seconds the second time. So then we were confused. Pulled at it for a shit load of times. nothing.. So just for the hell of it we checked the spark again. But this time we got nothing. I have no idea what the problem is now. I need to know how to get the plugs to spark. Any suggestions?

Im gonna guess that your little mouse frinds have chewed more than you think.  See if you can find a wiring diagram for your sled and trace all of the wires and make sure everything has a good connection.  If you can't find a diabram get back to me and I will see if I can dig one up somewhere.
