Snowmobile Repair: Polaris XLT smokescreen, oil injection system, polaris 800

first off let me say what a great site for information. i have two 1995 polaris xlt's and a 95' polaris 800 storm.
my question is on one of the xlt's. when i start it it smokes quite severely and runs poorly, misfires etc. i have taken the carbs apart and cleaned them thouroughly, set the float heights. once the machine is warmed up, it gets a little better, but still has sluggish performance. i am at a loss where to go from here.

Polaris has a variable oil injection system, wich means the higher the motor revs the more oil it gets and the lower the less.  It sounds like one of the 3 cylinders is getting too much oil. I'm not sure how to corredt this problem.  You could contact a Polaris service center and see if there is a way to ajust it.  I know on the Polaris 4 ATV's you can.  I hope I have been some help to you.
