Snowmobile Repair: clutch, best bet, dennis kirk

Question
I have an 86 el tigre 6000 that doesnt really have any low end and im using it just to play around with. I was wondering if i put washers on the end of the primary clutch spring and turned the secondary clutch srping to a stiffer setting if it would engage harder?

Answer
Hello Johnathan,

Sorry for the delay in my response. I have been on vacation from Allexperts for various reasons. Your question caught my eye, as I had a 86 El tigre, up till about now, after a bad crash. Your best bet would be to purchase a stronger spring for the Cat through Dennis Kirk, www.denniskirk.com . Other than that, I wouldn't recomend any modifications, only because I don't want to see any of my fellow sledders getting hurt on my advice. Not that it's always dangerous, it's a matter of skill. Hope you have good luck! LEt me know if you need any help with the sled! --Arcticatman
