Snowmobile Repair: an old sled, gas tank, diaphragms

Question
i have an old 1970 arctic cat and theres no gas gettin to the engine and i was just wonderin if the diaframs could be up side down.

Answer
Hello Thomas,

Sorry for the rather large delay in my response. There are alot of things that could cause the engine not to get any fuel. If you recently had the diaphragms out, then yes I would suspect them, if it ran before that. Otherwise, the first thing to check would be the inlet needle inside of the carburetor. They get stuck, if the sled has been sitting and won't let any fuel in. Also, take a look at the fuel lines and filter if equipped. Make sure they haven't clogged. Also, may Cat's from the early 70's have a filter inside of the gas tank. Here is a site that has diagrams and schematics to help identify parts. Le me know if you have any trouble. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticatman
