Snowmobile Repair: 1996 Yamaha Vmax 500, gas mileage, snow conditions

I have a '96 VMax 500. I re-jetted last year to ride in Wyoming. The sled ran great. This year I re-installed the original jets to ride in the UP.
My gas mileage was terrible, I was only getting about 7 mpg. This sled has always gotten 9-10 mpg depending on snow conditions. I made no adjustments other than the jets, any ideas?

  I would recomend installing new jets. They probably were damaged at some point during removal or installation. Other than that, make sure your plugs are new and clean, and that your air box is not restricted. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticatman
