Snowmobile Repair: Electrical Problem Skidoo 2002 MXZ 800 Snowmobile, mxz 800, electrical problem

I have a problem with all the lights going out.
They may be on for a couple minutes then get dull
or may not be on when I start it, then they may come on. Or sometimes they don't come on at all. Any help would be appriciated.

Hello Dave,

  Sounds like you have wires that are loose somewhere. Try looking at the wires that go up to the hood. Look at them right where they have to bend when the hood closes. Sometimes they get cracked. Other than that, take a look at the wires comming out of the engine by the recoil. These are the main wires. Check to make sure none of the plugs have come loose in the wiring harness. If the wiring checks fine, you will need to have your dealer test the magneto and voltage regulator. Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions.
