Snowmobile Repair: track bearing, drive rollers, speedo cable

1988 articat eltigre 5000 just bought it so i have no history I'm trying to remove the bearing that holdes the drive rollers at the front of the track. this is where the speedo cable connects to. It is all smashed up and the bearing is junk. trying to get ready for the snow.

Hello Paul,

 Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner. You will need to take the chain case cover off to get the bearing off generally. The reason for taking the case off, is to get the bearings loose on each side, by removing the 3 bolts that hold them in place. Your best bet would be to get it all loose, and then remove the axle with the bearings still on it. Then, use a bearing puller, such as the 3 jaw type, to remove the bearing, using plenty of WD-40.
