Answer
Hello Jonathan

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner. Sounds like you are off to a good start, with a good sled. I hit 97 mph on my '86 El Tigre a few days ago, on grass, so they are not a slow sled.    http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/DisplayBrandProducts.jsp;jsessioni... , should  have the proper manual to your sled. Also, you can get alot of good parts for cheap on Dennis Kirk and www.mfgsupply.com
You can also get a manual made by Intertec, which is one of my favorites, here: http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=36318&store=Main... .  Just be sure to check and make sure it's a manual. that will cover your year, I'm not sure what year your sled is. As far as  the chain case leak, besides my Ski-Doo Mach, I have yet to not have a sled that doesn't develop a leak. The best bet, is to take the chain case cover off, loosen the chain, take the chain off, remove the gears with it. Then, take the three bolts out, that hold the axle and bearings in place, and there will be a round rubber gasket, and there should be a O-ring, too. Replace those, and also when re-assembling, replace the gasket to the chain case cover. You can get all of those really hard to find parts that are OEM, here: http://www.brownsleisureworld.com/Parts/ . I wouldn't recommend any silicone in the sled, but using arctic cat chain case oil would really be a good idea, that stuff really works good. Best of luck to you, hope you have the sled running excellent for all the snow, let me know if I can help out with any other questions at all. --Arcticatman
