Snowmobile Repair: clutch, sand buggy, penetrating oil

Question
good afternoon. we are wondering how to remove a 1976 arctic cat clutch. We are building a sand buggy. We wish to remove this clutch anr replace with another type.  thanks Jack

Answer
Hello Jack,

It's probably a hex clutch, and as far as I remember, You are supposed to use a removal tool, so thst when you take out the three allen bolts on the clutch, it won't fly off and hurt you from the spring preasure. Other wise use something to hold it tight, like welders vise grips, and then slowly let the preasure loose. Once the front sheave is off, I think using a clutch puller and alot of penetrating oil will get it off. Hope this helps you, let me know if I can answer any other questions you might have. Good luck! --Arcticatman
