Snowmobile Repair: Fuel Mix, arctic cat panther, tillotson hd

Question
I posted a question about my Arctic Cat earlier today.  I forgot to provide the name of the engine.  It is manufactured by Kawasaki.  Here' the rest of the question I submitted for your info.

I have a 1970 Arctic Cat Panther 440

Here's the only ID Numbers I found:

Engine Block: TIC22 204071

Body: 401753 Also on Body: 0250-050

My question: Can you tell me the proper fuel mixture for this machine?

Thanks so much for any help. I inquired at a local dealer and they just seemed to blow
me off...probably want more paying customers.

Thanks,

Stan

Answer
Hello Stan,
I recently sent you two answers, but they don't contain correcect information. I didn't realize that you mentioned your Panther being a 440, sorry about the confusion. I believe your sled is a 1971 since that's the year Arctic Cat stated producing the 440. Here are the correct specs.: fuel/oil mix is 20:1, horsepower is 35@6500 RPM, the carburetor is: Tillotson HD 62A, the point gap is 0.012 to 0.016, the proper sparkplug is: NGK B9ES gapped at 0.020 to 0.024, the belt number is: 100-092, the clutch is a Salsbury, the chain size is: 35-2, and the sprocket ratio is: 19:39. The original Arctic Cat advertisements said that the Panther would go 60 mph. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Mr. W
