Steering Column Repair: 1992 S-10 Steering Column Removal, auto zone, snap ring

I would like to know how to remove the snap ring so that I am able to remove the inner housing of the steering column. Would you be able to provide instructions and a diagram to complete the replacement of the rod, that controls the wipers and turn signal. Also can you provide a photo of the proper steering wheel/column remover. I went to Auto Zone to rent a tool, but I don't it is the right tool. My truck is a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Pick-Up. It has a 4.3, no cruise control %26 no tilt steering.

Hi Michael:
If you are asking how to replace the turn signal lever, it is quite simple.  As you rotate it (like you are turning the wipers on), just pull...it slides right out.  If there is another reason you need to disassemble the column, let me know.  I do not have any step by step pictures yet, but I can talk you through most of it if needed.
