The procedure is very similar to the web pages I am going to refer you to with the exception of the way the lock cylinder is held in place. Instead of a bolt holding the lock cylinder in, there is a tab you need to punch through to hit and release. I am enclosing a picture to show you what to look for when you get down that far.
We have recently uploaded some videos on our website to give you first hand viewing of how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble the parts you are talking about. They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the video is for a newer Chevrolet truck with tilt, the column is very similar to yours for as far as you are going.
