Steering Column Repair: loose tilt steering, tool trucks, pivot pins


Question
I have a 94 s-10 blazer with aloose tilt steering, i read your answer`s on it and was woundering, the pivot pins, are they pressed in or threaded in ( if threaded L or R hand thread ).My tilt is so bad that if i go on bumpy roads or try to back up and move the wheel out of aline it pops out of gear... the place`s i rent tools haven`t heard of the pivot pin puller.. Thats why i asked the earlier questions,,              Harry

Pivot Pin Puller
Hi Harry:

The pins are pressed in.  You will need a pullet to remove them.  Here is a link to the tool we use.  You can buy these at many places (including Ebay & Snap-On tool trucks)
