Steering Column Repair: steering column, steering wheel, steering column

hey i have a steering column in my garage and i have decided to fix what ever is wrong with it and try to sell it, the problem is I'm not quite sure what to fix. it is a gm column and when you turn the steering wheel the the shaft at the bottom doesn't turn do you think you can help or give me an idea where to start

It sounds lie the steering shaft has either broken or collapsed and become disengaged.
I'm sorry, but if either is true, then it would cost more to rebuild it (if you could find the parts) than it would for anyone to purchase a good used column instead.
The steering shaft is just about the last piece to come out during an overhaul, and you would need to know what vehicle it came out of to acquire the correct replacement part.
