lcok cylinder
Hi Kayne:

In order to replace the lock cylinder, you will need a steering wheel puller and a spring plate compressor (hand tools).  Then it's fairly easy to do.   Remove the horn cap, the steering wheel and then compress the spring plate, remove the snap ring and then the plate using the spring plate compressor
You will need to go a little lower to get to the lock cylinder.  Once the spring plate off, remove the screws for the turn signal switch and lever along with the 4 way button on the side.  Pull the switch up and out of the way.  You do not need to remove it completely.
Once the turn signal switch is out of the way, remove the key warning buzzer contacts with needle nose pliers.  Grab the small metal bracket beneath the plastic contact and they will both (contacts and bracket) come out.
Now you will see two shallow areas that are cast into the housing.  One of them needs to be punched out so that you may depress the locking tab on the lock cylinder.
Hopefully the picture will assist you.  Once you hit the tab correctly, the lock cylinder will slide right out and you can either install a new one or start the truck with needle nose pliers.
