Steering Column Repair: 1986 Bronco Steering column repair, steering column repair, manual tranny

Question
Hi - I have a 1986 Bronco, manual tranny on the floor, non-tilt steering wheel.  This week, it suddenly would not start. We found that the ignition actuator was moving sideways when the key was turned.  There is quite a bit of slop but if we push the actuator with a pair of pliers, it starts fine.  I looked over a previous response for a auto tranny in the column and looked at the actuator on your site.  We need to get the parts that link to it, but we don't want to get plastic as it self destructs in our 120 degree summer here.  Would those parts be available as well?  Thanx  Glen

Hi Glen:
The part you need is an actuator.  Yours is made of cast metal.  We do have those in stock and can sell that to you if you contact us through our company website.  We also have instruction on how to accomplish that repair yourself posted in the "how-to" pages of our site.
