Steering Column Repair: chev sub turn signal switch issue, turn signal switch, chevy suburban

Question
I have a 99 Chevy Suburban.  Recently I replaced a burnt bulb in the right rear and everything was working.  Now the right side head lights are dim, the flasher goes fast (and weak) only on the right side.  The horn makes the lights go brighter.  If you turn the high beams on the turn signal doesn't even work (just turns green on the display). Everything on the left side works fine - headlights, turn signal, etc.

Does this mean that the turn signal switch is bad?  Is it hard to take the steering column apart?

Answer
Its sounds like the wrong bulb was installed, the reason I say that is because if you have, lets say a double contact socket, and you put a single contact bulb in it, when you apply electricity to one side of that contact, it will feed thru the bulb and send power back out of the other contact, making things go haywire. Hope this helps
