1990 olds cutlass ciera.i am working on this cars steering column because the column is losse from the tilt mechanicism and i have got it tore down to the main body but not sure how to remove the two pins in each side of the main body so i can fix the problem with the tilt so i can get the car inspected,please help if you can.i hope i have made the question so you can understand it.

Hello John,
You have gone as far as you have and now you need the special pivot pin tool. If you will note the center of the pins have a tiny threaded hole. The tool screws into the hole and an outer nut and spacer pulls the pin out of the hole. You can view a picture of the tool at this URL:

This special tool isn't easy to find. I have fabricated my own pin puller with a grade 8 machine screw, a nut, washer and socket big enough for the pin to fit in. You must be careful not to break the threaded end off in the pivot pin or risk never removing the pin.
