Steering Column Repair: 93 S-10 Dimmer switch, tension spring, low beam

Question
1993 S10.  Replaced heater core and had to drop column to pull out dash.  Put back together and I guess hi/low beam rod came out of its hole on the switch below the column.  Hit the brights and pressure gone off of the turn signal lever.
I checked and switch still functions so I removed plastic housing around signal stalk.  Anyway a plastic piece sits between the end of stalk and the dimmer rod.  After putting the rod back into dimmer switch and hitting the stalk to activate switch, everything worked but now not enough pressure to push rod back up to hit this plastic seperator.  Is something broke or has a tension spring cam loose.  A assembly picture would be helpful and I cannot find one.  Any advice.

Answer
Hello Brad,
There must be something misaligned. I'm not sure if the S10 has an adjustment on the dimmer switch mount, but if it does, it may have slipped when you put the rod back in the first time. Usually you can't get it back in when everything is back in place without bending or distorting the rod to go back in the hole. It's actually a much easier process when there are 3 sets of hands holding everything in position. Check your rod and switch adjustment.
Hope that helps.
Have a great day!
