Steering Column Repair: ign. switch removal, olds cutlass supreme, 1971 olds cutlass

hi I have a 1971 olds cutlass supreme and I need to replace the ign. switch.
I have the column apart but can,t see how to release the cyl... Help!

Hello Larry,
If my memory serves me correctly you will need to turn the ignition to the run or accessory position to push in the little tab on the lock mechanism, toward the center of the column. There should be a small hole to access the tab. There also may be a screw toward the bottom end of the hole for the lock cylinder.
