Steering Column Repair: 73 Corvette tilt & tele, switch rack, rubber bushing

Question
Hi,

I have determined that I need to change the ignition switch rack.  The key turns without any resistance, but the ignition switch itself is good (I changed it to be sure.

I had the column apart up to the lock mechanism.

I reassembled the column while I wait for the rack parts to arrive.

I have a couple of problems now.

1. I'm not sure how to get the lock out to get to the parts below it.
2.  I'm not sure how the ignition switch rack gets installed.
3.  There is a shaft with a rod inside of it, and some kind of keystone (wrong terminology?) on one end.  How does this reassemble? I ask because I cannot get the short star shaped bolt that sits in the end of the shaft to seat, so the rod must be stopping the bolt from going in all the way. I’m also not sure of the position for the rubber bushing that surrounds this shaft.
4.  The horn goes on when the telescopic is pushed forward all the way (towards front of car).

Do you have any diagrams that might help me?

Thanks for your help,

Rob

Answer
Hello Rob,
I haven't had access to my library as I've been out of town. To be honest with you I am confused as to your description, and would need to look this one up to find you a diagram. I apologize I cannot be of more assistance at the moment.
