QuestionHi I own a VN commodore 89 model, I took the steering wheel of today and now I can't do the steering up as there is Know thread coming through the centre , I did hit it with a hammer as normal to remove it, Ive never had any problems with the car, I just wanted to put a new steering wheel on, there is just not enough clearance to put a nut on, so now the car is of the road, would it be the steering might of dropped when hitting it with a hammer. and how would I go about repairing it myself, as Im not Financial to get a mechanic do it.

did you knock the steam down?
it is hard to say what to do when i can not see your problem .
it could be a damadged steam which would mean taping then treads .
did you try to put the old sterling wheel back on and what happend
