Steering Column Repair: steering column, chevy astro, transpotation

my 1994 chevy Astro mini van was stolen and they broke the sterring column. I've been calling and checking places to have it repaired, but i'm not getting a straight answer from any of them. I need to repair this as soon as possible {its our only form of transpotation for me and my family}. Please help us with some sort of information. Thank you

You have what is known as a Mechanical Anti-Theft System (MATS)---Worked real well huh?
You can either have it repaired (Sounds like no one knows how) or you can have a used column put in. I would suggest calling local junkyards and see if they offer installation. This column is more or less the same except for the wiper switch from 1988-1994.
