Subaru Repair: 2004 Subaru Outback (Manual) Noise, subaru outback, wheel bearing

Question
Recently I've heard a loud "windy" noise when I let go of the accelerator and a higher pitch noise when driving. It sometimes is more of a rattling noise than a high pitch noise... nonetheless, extra noises. It does not make the noise when idling, only when accelerating or decelerating. I'm at 79,000 miles. The check engine light came on 5,000 miles ago and was a carburater which has been replaced and the light it no longer on. Any ideas of what this could be?

Answer
Angie,

First off the 04 outback doesn't have a carburetor so I would look at your receipts and see what you paid for.

As to the noise it could be a bearing in the transmission, a alternator that is noisy or a wheel bearing, does it only make  the noise when it is moving?  Or can you rev it up at a stop in neutral and reproduce the noise?.
