Subaru Repair: Impreza Idle Problem, Subaru Idle, subaru repair expert

My son in law has a 2000 Impreza standard.  He tells me that sometimes when he comes to a stop the care idles fast until he puts it into neutral.  It doesn't happen all the time, and only seems to stop when he puts the car in neutral.  Any thoughts?

Hello Tom,

A good diagnoses really needs to be done locally to verify any potential component or condition issue. If there is no problems found, there is a logic update that should correct this.

But I have to stress a Logic update to the Vehicle ECM(Engine Control Module) should only be done after verification nothing else is wrong.
