Subaru Repair: ball joints, ball joints, ball joint

Question
I have a '99 forester, I broke the bolt that holds the ball
joint into the knuckle( front ).  What is best fix w/o buying all new oe knuckle,  bearing, speed sensor etc.?? If I get a used
suspension, How can I remove the bolt on the used susp so I
can put a new ball joint in with out breaking bolt?

Answer
Bob,

If the bolt breaks you can drill it out and re-tapp the threads.  Or take it to a machine shop and let a pro do it.

If you get a used knuckle there is no way of knowing how long the bearing will last.

Better of fixing what you have.
