Subaru Repair: Subaru outback tingling sound when stops, subaru outback, subaru america

It is a 2007 Subaru Outback ( 2.5i). When the car stops in a light  or I park the car after driving ( with and without A/c on)their is a tingling sound ( also vibration when I start) and from the front side of the car and it continues for 5/6 mins. Dealer said may be Heat Shield problem. Please advice what may be wrong -- anything major, costing high and Subaru America to be informed?

How many miles on your car. Could be loose heatshields on the exhaust pipes, the only way to properly fix it, is to replace the exhust pipe that has the loose heatshield. Obviously I can't tell from here, but that is common. The heatshields are warrantied for 3yr/36,000 miles from date of original purchase. Have you taken to your local dealer to have them check it? Subaru knows about the heatshields, but not much they can do about it, unfortuantly
