Subaru Repair: change of the transmission, exact explanation, lagacy

Question
I sent my subaru'98 outback lagacy to the garage last Thursday and noticed that the transmission has to be changed. It's been a week now and still not yet ready. The reason was either waiting for the parts from subaru or found problem after text. Is it normal for take over 6 working days or more for the work of transmission change. Kindly advise

Answer
There are variables and lots of them that could delay the process but it really sounds to me like the lines of effective communication have fallen off.I would call the person in charge of the car aka service manager/advisor.And get an exact explanation. What the problem is ,What part is on order, where it is coming from ,what was the shipping method. If something else is wrong what is it ,who is paying for it and why is it taking so long.I always keep my customers in the loop and you should expect the shop who has your car to do the same.
