Towing Issues: mimi cooper towing, mimi cooper, sensor light

Question
can you safely and properly tow a mini cooper behind a wrecker ? i have towed one but the check engine light came on. The dealership said the light was a brake / wheel sensor. I am not sure if i did it or if it left the dealership that way. It was only a code nothing was broken. Just the sensor light had to be reset. I want to provide a great service to our customers. well, my best advise is to get a copy of the AAA tow manual and look at what is recommended.

Also www.towspec.com is a great place to get information online regarding towing guidelines..


Now I know that it can be towed with a wheellift truck, and be done safely. But then again the manufacturer recommends flatbed towing (don't they all) and as such you might be finding yourself at odds with dealers and customers. Remember that we do not know our jobs but the customers and dealerships know it....
