Towing Issues: rear tow following an accident, 2006 bmw 750il, bmw 750il

Question
I have a customer with a 2006 BMW 750IL that was involved in a rear-end collision. The vehicle has a mechanism in it that makes the vehicle stop following when hit.  For this reason, the vehicle would not start, thus, could not be moved off the road.  The tow truck came and jacked up the car from the rear and swung it around 180 degrees to get it to the side of the road.  After having $9,000 in damages to the rear of the vehicle (some ft bumper damage as well) when the customer picked the vehicle up from the body shop it had a new noise which turned out to be a physically loose front tire rod outside and inside on one side as well as  well as steering rack. Customer is adamant that the vehicle had no such issues prior to impact...could this be the rear-lift towing?  Vehicle was later towed by it's front end to a body shop

Answer
I kind of doubt that it could have been as a result of towing. It most likely was due to the forces of impact in the collision.

If it was towed from the rear "most likely with an wheellift" then they do not get to hook or stress on the front end.

This sounds like the "you jumped my car and now the tire is flat" kind of blame...

Without inspecting the vehicle for damages and marks it would be hard to determine if it could have been towing damages.
