Towing Issues: need help, tow trucks, tow company

Question
my car was towed and i was arrested for evading. but i had out run the arresting officer during the chase. i was caught 15 or 20 Minutes. after the fact. so the officer that chased me happened to be a Sergeant. and because he was mad at me for making him look bad. he had my car towed 56 miles away. then sold it 14 days later. and i want to know if that is legal?

Answer
I do not know why questions come in asking for answers if it was legal when the questions do not provide the basic information needed to help provide answers.

I know that in some STATES, there are lien processes which are based on value of the vehicle. California, Oregon, Florida all come to mind right away in that kind of lien process.

56 miles for a tow does seem a bit much, but then again without specific location information it might be normal. I know of some parts of Montana, and Texas there are not tow trucks every block or 2. I have a friend in Texas where his office is 70 miles from the next closest tow company.

Now as to legal or not, I am not a lawyer so I can not help with specific laws.

Hope this helps.
