Towing Issues: Fire lane towing, mobile home park, dmv web

Question
I was towed from a mobile home park last night where my mother lives in La Verne, CA.  I parked in front of her house which is curbed but not marked or red.  I pulled up and began unloading a few things.  By the time I went into the house and came back the tow truck hooked up to my truck and was two houses down.  I yelled and screamed and he thought about stopping but kept driving. They said it was towed because it was parked in a "fire lane" I was just wondering if that is considered a fire lane, does it have to be marked?  I know our management has a contract with the company but I figured I would be able to unload my truck without it being taken.

check out this section of the California DMV web site where you can look up the rules about fire lanes.

Also check out sections 22500 (fire lane towing) and 22658 towing rules - regulations...

Its a lot of info to post.
The information also covers, signs, marking of fire lanes, when they do not need to be marked also.

But I have to say that most mobile home parks have the rules and regulations set as to any roadway inside the park is considered a fire lane. Sad but true fact almost anywhere in the Country.

I hate to say it, but anytime you park in a fire lane then you are risking being towed. Unloading stuff or not, I know it sounds like its cruel but illegally parked vehicles are illegally parked in any case. The only ones who can legally park in fire lanes, are police, fire and ambulances.
