Towing Issues: Towing 2000 Ford Mustang Standard Shift, tow dolly, drive wheels

Question
QUESTION: Recently purchased a tow dolly, and want to tow my 00 ford mustang standard shift.  Can I two in neutral with front wheels on dolly or do I have to tow with rear wheels on dolly with steering locked and ignition off.  If towing with front wheels on dolly will miles log on transmission, it is digital odometer

ANSWER: I always recommend that you get the drive wheels off the ground as that way "ANY CHANCE" of damage is eliminated on the transmission.

Generally digital odometers do not record mileage if no power is running though the system, so you should record any changes, but then I have been wrong at times.

QUESTION: Great but just one more question, then I can assume that there is no issues with the front wheels being on the ground, i.e. camber settings to the front end.  I will be towing for 1000 miles + and just want to make sure with drive wheels off ground there is no issues with the front end rolling on the road

Answer
It should not affect the alignment - camber at all, but then stranger things have happened.

If you are that worried about the vehicle, a tow dolly which only lifts one end is not a good idea, as the best way would be to use a car trailer where the whole vehicle is off the ground.

Sure that is more expensive, and bigger, but it becomes a lot more worry free.
