Towing Issues: tow a ford van with LS, small claims court, ford van

Question
QUESTION: i have a 99 ford van with a lemied slipp rear i had unit towed and they pulled the drivers side axle out and the tranny will not hold in park.  found problem case was cracked in side. where the parking lock is.  is it possable that they should have pulled both axles to tow it this way.  i was told that they should have pulled the drive shaft. not the axle or should have pulled both axles. because of the LS rear one axle still in does not dissengage the rear

ANSWER: it sounds to me like they did mess up with only pulling one axle...

It is best to pull the driveline so that there is not any chance of damage to the transmission..

Now the transmission damage happened when the case cracked during tow or was it the reason for the tow ???

Something had to be wrong for the vehicle to be towed.

I would talk to the tow company and see what they say about the damages, if they cracked the transmission.

QUESTION: water pump let loose is why it was towed

Answer
well I was just throwing out a question as to why it was towed in a rhetorical manner.

It sounds like the tow company might have to be contacted and see what they say about this issue.

That is where I would go now.

And remember that if they deny it and you still feel wronged then you can go the small claims court route.

As a side note you can check out on online towing manual where you can find out what the correct method for towing your vehicle is, and it is located at
