Towing Issues: PPT, tow truck driver, tow driver

Question
I live in portland oregon and my car was towed yesterday. my car was parked in an apt complex and I am a resident. I parked in an area with no signs indicating no parking in that area. I did go out when the tow truck driver was hooking up the vehicle and he just got in the truck and droe away. When I called the tow co. they said there was nothing they can do and to contact apt management. From what I understand they are suppose to release if you come out wihle they are still hooking up but he ignored me as I was yelling and actually chased him down the road. Is there anything that I can do about this???

Answer
Well it sounds as if the tow driver "might" of broke the law, but I was not there so I really do not know about it...

The City of Portland (my hometown) has some rules and regulations regarding impounding vehicles from Private Property and it is quite specific as what to do...

Signs do not have to be posted in every space or area, entrances are to be posted and at times that is all that is needed.

Check out the link below and find the "release at scene RAS" close to the bottom...

Also further rules are on the right side of the page which you might find useful...

Hope this helps.
