Towing Issues: tn towing laws, shell station, tow yard

Question
yes on sat i parked at a shell station with a flat tire went inside an asked if it was cool if i left my car here till i came an got it wensday..i show up a day early to be jsut incase an they towed my car.. how do i need to handle this situation

Answer
well I hope first of all you have paid to get your vehicle out, and that is done. Otherwise they are charging for each day that it stays in the tow yard.

Now I really do not understand how you expect for the Shell station to let you leave a vehicle there for 5 days. Most places will not allow that to happen and do tow vehicles. And gas stations really are fast to tow as most places to park are also right were the gasoline delivery truck unloads into the underground tanks...

So you might of been causing problems where you were parked, but then again I was not there so I do not know.

Now remember that if the vehicle is left there, it can be considered abandoned and towed under any number of state or City laws, and that might be been another issue and reason it was towed.

Or someone did not pass on that it was ok to park there, or that person who said ok, really was not able to make that statement.

Now I have to ask, if your car had a flat tire, what about just changing the tire and putting on the spare ???  Or do you not have a spare tire because you had to remove it for room to put in your speakers (I have seen that so many times that its not funny and that is why I ask that)

As to laws in Tennessee regarding towing from private property, I have lost my links to the laws I had and I can not find then with a fast search here. But you might work with Goggle and see if you can find then using keywords such as "Tennessee" "towing laws" "private property" and such.

Hope this helps a bit
