Towing Issues: in mass have u ever heard of???, gps unit, oil pan

Question
is it lawful for a tow truck owner to charge the drivers of his compant for damage that may or may not be caused by a vehicle being towed ( ie.. a damaged oil pan or broken eyelet of an older vehicle which was probably damaged already but could of been made worse by being towed???)   or how about charging the driver for a gps unit which was stolen out of a truck while it was parked at the drivers house???  just need to know what u think of these issues and if you know where in mass i might go for help   thank you  kevin

Answer
this gets into legal issues, which I tend to shy away from, but it is not uncommon for company owners to make drivers responsible for equipment lost, or invoices - money missing.

Now theft is a different story in my mind as generally a police report is filed..

Department of labor or what ever that agency is in Massachusetts is would be a great place to start along with the Federal Department of Labor  as second choice
