Towing Issues: police impounded, police impound vehicles, illegal activity

if i allowed someone to use my vehicle and the drove to there job and upon arriving was told that the business was under investigation and so was the person who i let borrow the car, does that allow the police to impound my vehicle because it was driven onto the property?

This question is better suited for an attorney. I have seen police impound vehicles (regardless of who owes the vehicle) that were used in conjunction or suspected of illegal activity. Also, they have held vehicles as long as necessary to complete their investigation or until trial. Hopefully this isn't the case and you can retrieve your vehicle in a timely manner. Good luck.
