Towing Issues: towing a 66 Mustang, tow dolly, drive wheels

Question
I am hauling my 1966 manual transmission V8 Mustang 1500 miles to a new home. I plan on using a tow dolly to save tow weight. Do I need to remove the driveshaft?

Answer
Well generally that era of vehicle with a manual transmission would be safe to tow with the drive wheels on the ground and the driveline in the vehicle.
But then again with that age of vehicle, there might be some issues with the transmission. Better to be safe than sorry.

But you can also load the vehicle backwards, (drive wheels on the dolly) and then tie - secure the steering in a straight ahead position.

Good luck
