Towing Issues: unreasonable towing, vertical gap, ways to resolve conflict

Question
OK let me start by saying thank you for sharing your knowledge, I think these kind of sites are great ways to resolve conflict. This might get hard to explain but bare with me. Look at a calculator, and imagine that the numbers 7,8,4,& 5 are small businesses. And the tiny vertical gap between these four numbers is a 25-30 ft wide space for parking, where cars tend to stack up bumper to bumper. The number 5 is my court ordered counseling program. I am parked directly in front of my building. However, the number 4, a small mexican restaurant who does not own the parking lot, has put up business only parking signs all around the outside of their establishment. I came outside of my counseling to find that my car had been towed, none of the 3 surrounding businesses were busy or willing to say that they had called to have it removed. And the towing business itself also was unwilling to tell me who called to have it removed
How can this business claim all of the parking available?
How can I prove that I was towed unreasonably?
THANKS RICHARD

Answer
First of all, its hard to say if it was towed illegally or what ever since this involves a "Shared parking area" which is the worst kind of arrangement to have.

Generally some business decides that they own it all and want to have room for their customers and boom, vehicles get towed.

How since I do not know where this happened (city and or State) I can not tell you the specific laws which will affect this answer, but the "PROPERTY OWNER" is the one who should be answering questions. They are the ones who rent the property out, and have either assigned parking spaces to businesses or would be able to do that.

Now it can be that the Mexican restaurant did indeed do what is termed "an illegal tow" by authorizing the vehicle to be removed, if they did so. But till you find out who actually authorized the tow (signed the paperwork) then you will have a uphill battle.

Hope this helps you.
