Pontiac Repair: windshield wipers stopped working, 3800 engine, pontiac grand am

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE....engine is a 3.8l(3800) 6 cylinder ,and my windshield wipers have stopped working.I took it to a mechanic and he said that my fuses are good.He thinks it might be something to do with the ignition switch,or a bad connection or maybe a short it the wires somewhere.any ideas or thoughts on what might be the problem?

which car is this a 3800 engine is not in a grand am a 3800 is in a bonneville or a grand prix. the engine doesn't matter but the model of car does. most of the time it's either a motor or the delay board on the motor. if it's a grand prix they have ignition switch issues but a lot of other things would not be working along withe the wipers. The grandprix has a ground wire issue also for the wiper motor I haven't seen that all that often. The grans am it's just usually the motor that goes bad. hope that helps some.
