Towing Issues: Illegally towed?, residence apartment, car sticker

Question
While legally parked at my place of residence (apartment complex), my car was towed during the association’s attempt to crack down on illegally parked commuters.  The sticker identifying my car as a resident had unknowingly come unglued from the window so I had to pay $130 to retrieve my car.  Sticker or not, this doesn't seem right to me.  I live there ... I pay rent there.  I’d like to fight it but I’m not sure if legal is on my side or not.  Can you please point me in the right direction?  Thanks a million!!

Answer
Have you contacted the complex manager? You may be able to get your money back, but they don't have to. It is unfortunate that the sticker came off, but the towing company would have no way to know you had one. Let me know if you contact the complex and let me know what they say. You need to know who authorized the tow.
