Towing Issues: Towing from Private residence, registration law, private residence

I am a Texan staying at a private residence for an extended stay of two more months. My truck is parked in front of the home where I am staying and the HOA is threatening to tow for failure to comply with the 30 day registration law once you arrive in VA. However, If I am going back to Texas soon, why should I have to register in VA and then have to pay an insane property tax? Do I have any recourse?

The HOA can make all the rules and regulations of which apply to their property.   

I hate to say it, but it sounds like they are a bit "over zealous" in their policies...

Talk to them about it and see what can happen.  But you might be in for a hassle if you complain a lot.
