Towing Issues: towing issue, tow companies, tow company

Question
I called tow truck because my truck wouldn't start. Before tow showed i figured for kicks id try to start my truck again one last time and it started. So i called tower to cancel and they responded that they were already in the area and had to charge me something. So i waited and they never showed or called me again and so i left. I called the business where my truck was stationed at and they said the tow truck never showed. If they call to send an invoice can they still charge me for never showing and not going through with the towing service or should i just brush it off and forget the day ever happened?

Answer
In many cases tow companies to bill for the time involved in responding to the call.

If they arrived at the location and you went to show them what was wrong and it started would you think they are entitled to be paid for showing up?

Look at how doctors work, if you do not show up for your appointment in most cases they charge you for the time your appointment would take.

If you get a bill you can always discuss it with the tow company, but they did spend money to respond to your call and they generally do get paid for that service.
I know that we charge to respond to calls here, even if we are canceled while enroute in most cases.
