Towing Issues: Towing advise for Mercury Grand Marquis, mercury grand marquis, grand marquis

Hi there,
I have a '99 Grand Marquis, which I believe can tow around 2,000 pounds. However, I will be driving the car from Ohio to North Carolina through mountainous West Virginia. As a precaution, I would think shutting off the overdrive and not going above 50 or so would help spare the transmission, but any other advise would be very much appreciated.

I do not really understand if you are towing something or not in this question...

But just driving the vehicle normally should be ok, will the "hills" that you will encounter. The vehicles transmission should adjust for the conditions...

Those are my thoughts.
