Towing Issues: Tow damage via Repo, jeep grand cherokee, lift tow

Question
My SUV, a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was repo'd and I guess the term is rear towed, back up, front down for about 150 miles, and then when I got it back, the brakelights were fried, and the transmission blew a few weeks later. My mechanic said this was due to leakage and that this model should have been towed via flatbed. Where can I find this information since I'm suing for damages> San Diego CA 92083

Answer
Best place online to find towing information is at

www.towspec.com

Its where I look up a lot of the information online.

As to the "damage issue"  the 2000 AAA tow manual (its a printed book) that I have along with general knowledge of Jeeps tell me that the best method for towing them is with all 4 wheels off the ground, or rear lifted with either a sling or wheel lift tow truck and then dollies under the front end (this works also in reverse if lifted from the front, just dolly the back)...

Your owners manual should have towing instructions in it also, check that and use it in court also.

The brake lights ??? well that I have no idea on the answer for that one and I do not think that towing the vehicle had anything to do with them...

Good luck in court and make sure you have lots of evidence
