Towing Issues: towing a ford f100, ford f100, truck style

Question
I have a 79 ford f100 thats 2 wheel drive regular cab pickup which weighs about 4000lbs...maybe less. I was wanting to pull it with a tow bar but the only truck i have now is a 2000 ford ranger extended cab 4 wheel drive truck which after its loaded down with stuff with me in it will weigh about the same thing...i have about a 3oo mile trip if i was to haul it and its all highway and i would do it at night driving around 50 to 60 mph...would you recomend pulling the truck or would it be too risky...i realize i would not be able to stop on a dime because of the weight of the truck. I dont' have another way to pull it and right now besides using my truck...if you could email me back I would greatly appreciate it

Answer
I wish I could provide a solid answer on this, but basic rule of thumb is not to tow anything which is equal or heavier than your tow vehicle unless it has operative  brakes on the towed vehicle hooked to the tow vehicle (think semi truck style)

I am going to say that its not advisable to do this...
