Towing Issues: Moving from GA to FL, 10 footer, front wheel drive

Question
Hi,
I am moving from Atlanta GA to Miami FL. I have rented a U-Haul 10' truck. I want to tow my car Honda Civic 02 model. What would be best, a trailer or a dolly? What is the fastest advisable speed to drive?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Maga

Answer
Depending if the rental truck can handle the additional load (or if Uhaul allows) the car can be tow dollied. Since the car is a front wheel drive the front wheels must go in the dolly. Follow all the procedures for securing and towing the vehicle. Uhaul can help load the car in the dolly and they may advise a larger truck as you may exceed the weight and towing limitations of the 10 footer. I personally prefer trailers over dollies and would say a larger truck is needed because of the additional weight. As for the speed the rule of thumb is 10 mph under the max. posted speed and Uhaul also has a set of rules for advisable speeds
