Towing Issues: Towing out of state, george washington bridge, long island expressway

Question
I am in the process of moving from Long Island NY to Tannersville PA ( the poconos) , I have a disabled Ford Explorer that needs to come with me. My question is do you know the laws or any information if I can tow this myself and just hook it up to my other truck. I will be traveling on the Long ISland expressway, the throgs neck and George Washington Bridge and paying tolls. What are the rules of doing this?

Answer
If your tow vehicle is stout enough, you can tow bar the explorer once the drive shafts have been removed. I'm a firm believer of driveshaft disconnects. Another option is a car trailer which I think is the best route. Your tow vehicle will have to be up to the task especially since it will probably be loaded to the max. Should you decide a box truck (uhaul, budget, etc.) with a car trailer pay attention to the height a weight restrictions. Regardless of tow method, you will be required to pay  tolls for the each axles.
